Moetu Batlle and David Passegand, creators of the Anooki

The Anooki were born from the imagination of the artist duo Moetu and David. Best friends since their student days, they have been creating, making and experimenting together for almost 30 years.

They met at design school in Paris, then teamed up in 2000 to found their digital design studio. For 20 years, Moetu & David created innovative, creative and agile interactive projects for companies, brands, products and institutions looking for a strong identity.

Alongside this, they created the Anooki, two funny, endearing and cheeky characters inspired by the Inuit, who became their field of creative exploration. The Anooki carry values of friendship, living together, mutual help, complicity and love. Their good cheer is catching: they melt the hearts of grown-ups and fascinate little ones. They are also true messengers for the environment, evoking global warming with lightness and poetry and making these crucial issues accessible to all.

Since 2012, the artist duo has been creating sound and light shows and exhibitions of monumental statues in urban space: Dubai, Osaka, Singapore, Kyiv, Toruń, Lyon, Hong Kong, Doha, Taiwan, Shanghai, Geneva, Zagreb, Bucharest, Zurich, Beijing, Grand Rapids (Michigan)… The Anooki turn cities all over the world into spaces of play and freedom.

In 2025, in collaboration with EVAA, the Anooki entered the art gallery world. Statues and works on paper now find their way into our homes.
